Welcome to my art blog!

I love to draw and create, but as some have pointed out, I tend to gravitate towards comic and sci-fi characters (as seen at my sketch blog) and I forget the whole other world of subjects out there. This blog is dedicated to that other world. Although, as you'll see, I can't seem to escape a little bleed over.

Click through the pages at top and see the art I've lovingly laid at your feet. Tread lightly!

Never really drawn that many kids before...

As I mentioned in my other art blog, it's been a while since I've posted on here.  I've been pretty busy working on a couple different art projects, including character designs for a video game in development (nothing serious, unless it gets picked up), a book cover, and trying to get around to my next epic portrait.

Here's a few rough concept sketches for one of the video game characters.  She was described to me as supposed to be between 10 - 12 years old, and cute.  I don't know what makes a cute kid, but I took a couple shots in the dark with these.

I've since submitted a finished model sheet based on the second sketch, with more details added.  They're currently working on the 3D modeling!  Can't wait to see my art in 3-D form.  Sooner or later I'll learn to do that kind of stuff myself...  Hopefully I'll post the finished product (if I can) so stay tuned!

Epic Portrait #3: Tom

The zombie apocalypse happened, and only a few people were prepared.  One of those people was Tom.  Surrounded by the undead, he doesn't flinch or panic- he takes action, dispatching them with his kukri machete and Magnum Python.  The only thing that matters now is getting to his friends and loved ones and helping them to survive!

As always, if you're interested in an epic portrait, contact me at tonyaros1@gmail.com with details and I will add your name to the waiting list.  Stay tuned!

Epic Portrait #2: Emily

When a nuclear reactor melts down and explodes, a two-toed sloth from the nearby zoo is irradiated and grows to a monstrous size.  Crazed and confused, it begins rampaging through downtown Dallas leaving destruction and carnage in its wake.  The airforce's jets had no effect.  Shells from tanks on the ground were shrugged off like bee-stings.  The sloth's radioactive breath burned through soldiers and ordinance alike.  Seeing no other option, local hero Emily irradiates herself and grows to face down the beast.  Conventional weaponry had proved ineffective- let's see how the beast holds up against some colossal punches!

On to my next portrait...featuring zombies!  Stay tuned.

If you'd like to commission your own epic portrait, contact me at tonyaros1@gmail.com and I will add your name to the waiting list.

Epic Portraits

Have you ever wished people understood just how awesome you are?  Just how pants-crappingly bad-ass your day-to-day undertakings are?  Have you fought a sea-monster to a stand-still and just want everyone to know about it?  Well, that's where I come in.  For a small, negotiable fee, I will depict you in all your epic glory.  If interested, send a pic of yourself along with a description of your awesome feat (the further out there, the better) to tonyaros1@gmail.com.  Or, if you just want more information, shoot me an e-mail as well.  Below is my tale, of when I wrestled a grizzly bear who not only could shoot lasers from his eyes, but also had both a flamethrower and a chainsaw duct-taped to each paw.  True Story.

If you'd like to add your name to the waiting list, shoot me an e-mail.  I mostly charge by size of painting and will do preliminary sketches free-of-charge.

You know you're awesome.  Why not let everyone else in on it?

Private Eye

I went a little "noir" on this one.  Chalk and acrylic on wood.  Thanks to my girlfriend and a smudge on the already-black board for inspiration.
