Welcome to my art blog!

I love to draw and create, but as some have pointed out, I tend to gravitate towards comic and sci-fi characters (as seen at my sketch blog) and I forget the whole other world of subjects out there. This blog is dedicated to that other world. Although, as you'll see, I can't seem to escape a little bleed over.

Click through the pages at top and see the art I've lovingly laid at your feet. Tread lightly!

Neon Girls

It's been a while since I've updated this page- not for lack of wanting to, but for lack of time (and, I'll admit, some lack of motivation).  Anyway, just last night I felt a huge rush of productivity, and using three roughly 12" x 12" panels of wood, I painted out these three girl portraits one right after the other.  I used some random stock images for reference, but really was just trying to experiment with color and splatter effects.  It was fun using colors I never use (I mean, pink, really?) but I was happy with the results.

And yes, I know I need better titles for them- I'm sure I'll think of something.  I'm intending on submitting these to the Community Action Council's Artists Stand Against Poverty art auction.  I've submitted pieces in past years and sold several.  The best part is that have the cost of the sold piece goes toward fighting poverty, so it's a win-win.  Here's hoping I can ride this wave of productivity and crank out a few more pieces!
